Response to Michael Barone

Michael Barone's latest article, http://townhall.com/columnists/MichaelBarone/2009/01/31/the_gop_should_go_upscale,  misses the two points upscale voters are concerned with money and ethics... hence Pres Obamas victory.  What McCain couldn't do was overcome the medias relentless push against Bush's policies while, by the way, Pres. Obama is now following in many ways, so much for change.

What the Republican party really needs to get back to is being a party of lower taxes and less government and then MEANING IT!!!  For the most part morality can and should be avoided, with the exception of abortion.

But higher income earners and those that aspire to be will generally want one thing.  Less government bothering them more often.  This is the key and McCain no matter how hard he tried could not sell it, however hard he tried.

It was his fate no matter how unfair to lose the nomination to W some nine years ago only to decide to attempt to grasp at a forgone glory never to come no matter what, poor John! Now forlorn and still Senator, he may have a better place than POTUS, his latest crash may prove to show what courage and strength this man really has as he will have a unique position with President Obama.  Now Mr McCain show your worth my friend.

its gettin hot, hot, hot!?

Like to thank Dennis Prager for the heads up on this so if you have a few minutes you might want to check this article out and then ask yourself why Al Gore is now calling it climate change instead of global warming.  Maybe we will be asked to use more carbon in the future as now we are all gonna freeze to death.  No can't be that one the scaremongers all ready tried it at the beginning of the wonderful 80's!

Republican Nominee in 12? Give This a Try

In light of the recent election and susequent dissappointment garnered by the obama victory I have had to come to terms with certain facts about my troubled Republican party.  First of all many of its members are stuck in the past looking for the glorious return of Ronald Reagan.  He is gone, never to return, lets move on.  The principles he espoused were conservative values, not Reagan values.

Secondly its nominees, when not stuck in a defeatist infighting i.e. Huck/Romney seemed to be out of touch or too afraid to be conservative.  In other words incapable of winning.  Which brings me to the point of this blog, who will the Republican party nominate in 2012?  Now I know we are over three years away from the next convention however it gives a little solace to look ahead, so lets take a gander at some potential nominees:

1.  Mike Huckabee; Not a chance at the nomination due to infighting with other candidates.  Hard to win without half of the party no matter how skillful a politician, debater and campaigner you may be.
2.  Mitt Romney;  See Mike Huckabee and his flips are just to near and to convenient.

3.  Sarah Palin;  Love her but i believe she is still to hokey for the time being and can not garner enough support across the board.  Will get second in primary delegates.

4.  Rudy Giulianni;  Only If this guy could flip on a couple issues he would have been and would be the toughest candidate to run against.  He sure can explain an issue and smile while doing it.

5.  John McCain;  No more my freinds, no more.

6.  Bobby Jindal;  V.P. selection

7.  Which brings me to the point of this blog.....General David Howell Petraeus.  If President Obama has any slips or looks weak in the slightest this is how we take it all back.  Quick and efficient.  Let me restate it: General David Howell Petraeus.

Huck in 2012

Mike Huckabee will run in 2012 and he should do much better the next go around.  Many of the christian organizations that failed to endorse him early will not make the same mistake again.  Like him or not he will be one of the strongest contenders for the nomination, many people simply will not wait and let the same thing happen as we got this year. check the article below out:

http://www.worldmag.com/articles/13894

And why is Mikes "christianity" such a problem?   Who among us is trying to elect Jesus?  At least recognize that he is a good communicator and likable with a very good grasp of issues that concern many of us.

Concerning the mitt/huck feud either we all need to drop this crap and let the guy who gets the most votes win and accept it or we need to stay away from both men.  This fight has gone on too long and is honestly getting a bit tiresome.  I WILL VOTE FOR ROMNEY if neccesity deems that i do so.  So what if he attacks someone i may happen to like more in the primary.  That is good, that means he can attack and fight against the real opponent, the democrat nominee.  Something the good Senator McCain obviously was incapable of doing...my freind.
